Kipps: The Story of a Simple Soul is a novel by H. G. Wells which narrates the story of a man who loses his peaceful life when he miserably fails while trying to groom himself to upper class live due to his new found wealth.  The protagonist Kipps' efforts to going back to his old life and progress towards mingling with his childhood sweet also fails. The story end-sup Kipps finding himself comfortable when he reverts to his old life, in-spite of fluctuations in his wealth which was gained, lost unexpectedly and regained surprisingly through one of his low profile investment.
