Warlord of Mars is a fantasy novel of planets fiction genre written by Edgar Rice Burroughs, an American novelist who created Tarzan. This novel is a part of his Barsoom series and the story is the continuation of previous novel The Gods of Mars, which has ended abruptly, while the princess Dejah Thoris was imprisoned in the Temple of the Sun.

As the novel opens, Protagonist John Carter understands that along with his beloved wife, there are two more princesses have been detained by the antagonists. Thuvia, Princess of Ptarth, Holy Thern's daughter, and Dejah Thoris are in a prison which is opened only once in a year. John Carter follows the antagonists while they move to north polar regions, and overcame a battle with mysteries Martian races.
