The Adventure of the Dying Detective is a short story written by English Physician Arthur Conan Doyle. Dr. Watson has been informed by Holmes Landlady Mrs. Hudson, that Holmes is seriously ill due to an unknown disease. On his arrival at Holmes residence, Dr. Watson felt he is ill treated by Holmes, when he was about to touch an ivory box. Holmes ask Watson to meet a stranger named Smith and convey the message about his illness. Dr. Watson come back to Holmes residence before Smith arrives to meet Holmes. The incidents after Smith's arrival reveals the mystery behind the illness which he pretended to have contracted for an investigation.
