The Pensées is written by Blaise Pascal, a French mathematician with multifaceted personalities as inventor, writer, physicist and a Christian philosopher.

This book which defends Christian religion was not published till the author’s death. Though it is believed Pascal had finished writing it and started ordering his writing before his death. Pascal transformed his life to asceticism after his religious conversion to Christianity, which made him write Pensées, which he believed as a work of his life time.
